Fuchsia Whip - Lady Boothby
This is a vigorous grower and can form a dense shape quite quickly. Beautiful mauve and pink flowers grow all over the pretty red young stems.
Now you can grow your own beautiful Standard Fuchsia with our range of Fuchsia Whips.
Standards are very eye-catching but do need a little patience. They can be slow going from cuttings, but by starting with a whip you will already have a healthy plant from a variety which is well suited to growing as a standard. They are supplied as strong, well-rooted plants in 9cm pots and are caned, un-pinched plants (this is most important!) and are already approximately 25-30cm tall.
With most fuchsias you would pinch out the growing tip to promote bushy growth, this is TABOO for growing a standard, the tip must be protected at all costs! By leaving the tip the plant will grow straight upwards until it is the desired height à only then should you pinch it!
