Spinach - Beet Popeye Seeds
Attractive enough for the flower border, the dark green, heavily savoyed (crinkly) leaves can be used just like spinach.
So useful, it can be eaten as 'greens', in savoury flans and even in curries.
This Unwins bred variety is highly resistant to running to seed.

Sowing Outdoors
Prepare ground for sowing by raking to produce an even surface. Sow thinly in pre-watered rows about 2cm (1in) deep. Allow 30cm (12in) between rows. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established.
Growing on / thinning
When seedlings are large enough to handle thin them to about 15cm (6in) apart.
Special note
If plants survive the winter, they may produce a further crop the following spring. This variety is currently undergoing trials for inclusion in the Natural List of Vegetables. Please let us know you're results by writing to us.
