Delightfully different for patio containers, this mixture of large, bell shaped flowers in warm and pastel tones will be a talking point all summer long.
The plants can also be grown in a conservatory or as a houseplant, where they will flower even longer than they do outside.
You can over-winter outdoors in very sheltered spots.

Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in warmth 15-20C (60-70F) and keep moist.
Growing on / thinning
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from bright sun. When large enough to handle, transplant individually to 8cm (3in) pots of potting compost.
Hardening off / planting
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Abutilons are ideal as a centrepiece to large containers. Alternatively, pot on to larger pots and grow to maturity in a conservatory or on a windowsill.
