Asparagus Pea
We admit it - it's not asparagus and it's not a pea, but it's rather tasty!
This unusual vegetable has a unique flavour, a bit like a cross between tender asparagus and fresh young peas.
Very easy to grow and does not require any support. Asparagus Pea a very pretty plant which looks as good in the flower border as it does in the vegetable plot.
Pick the curiously shaped 'pods' when they are no more than 2cm (1in) long and lightly steam them.

Sowing Outdoors
Prepare ground for sowing by raking to produce an even surface. Sow thinly about one seed every 5cm (2in) in shallow rows which have been watered. Cover lightly with a little soil. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established.
Special note
Pods 2cm (1in) long or less have best flavour. Do not use big pods.
