growing information

Sowing Indoors

Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly, but DO NOT cover them.

Place in warmth at 18-24C (65-75F) and keep moist. Cover tray with cling film but remove this as soon as seedlings start to emerge.

Growing on / thinning

Keep in light, but shade from bright sun. When large enough, transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of compost.

Hardening off / planting

Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out, when frost has passed. Allow 30cm (12in) between plants.

Special note

This seed is tiny and needs handling with care to avoid crushing. For extra protection and ease of sowing it is filled into a fine seed sower.
