Borage Seeds

Go Back

Growing a useful range of herbs from seed is so easy!

Grow them in the border among your flowers, in a special herb bed, or simply in pots by the back door. You can even grow some on your kitchen windowsill. They are easy to dry and even easier to freeze.

Borage Summer Skies is a blend of the usual intense blue and the more unusual white forms of this cottage garden favourite.

The young leaves can be used in salads, and the star-like blue flowers can be added to drinks or salads. Borage flowers frozen in ice cubes are perfect to perk up your Pimms!

Butterflies and bees adore it!

growing information

Sowing Outdoors

Rake soil to provide a firm, even surface.  Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered soil, lightly covering them with a little more soil.

Sowings made in semi-circular lines create a natural 'drift' effect.  Keep moist until seedlings appear and as required in dry spells.

Growing on / thinning

When large enough to handle, thin seelings to allow their development and to prevent overcrowding.

Special note

Both the flowers and leaves of Borage are edible.
