Brassica Clubroot Resistant Collection

Go Back

With no chemical solution for treating clubroot in brassicas, the only way you can guarantee disease-free crops is by growing resistant varieties – and we have a great collection for you.

One of the most destructive diseases to brassicas, clubroot is a fungal infection that causes the roots to swell and reduce the uptake of water to the plant, resulting in severely stunted growth. The fungus can survive in the soil for up to fifteen years – so even crop rotation won’t help – and can be spread through infected soil on shoes and tools.

We are delighted to be able to offer you an increased range of clubroot resistant varieties of brassicas in a special value collection – guaranteed to be clubroot-free!

Cabbage KilaxyThis superb cabbage has proved a favourite for the home gardener due to its reliability. It produces dense heads of good flavour and can be grown at close spacing. It also has good tolerance to internal black.

Cauliflower Clapton Another good variety with major benefits to gardeners. It has good erect growth so takes up less space and produces well protected dense white curds.

Brussels Sprout Crispus This is a superb variety with vigorous growth and excellent standing ability. The small tight buttons are dark green with good flavour.
