This fascinating plant is so easy from seed. It has waxy blue-green foliage, sea blue bracts and tubular purple and yellow flowers.

Sowing Indoors
Sow in a tray of moist seed compost in gentle warmth 10-15C (50-60F). Lightly cover the seeds with a little more compost.
Transplant individually to 8cm (3in) pots of compost when seedlings are large enough to handle. Gradually accustom to cooler conditions before planting out from April onwards.
Plants produced from August to October sowings should be planted out in late autumn. Allow 30cm (12in) between plants.
Sowing Outdoors
Rake soil to provide a firm, even surface. Sow seeds thinly in a pre-watered soil, lightly covering them with a little more soil.
Sowings made in semi circular lines create a natural "drift" effect. Keep moist until seedlings appear and as required in dry spells.
Growing on / thinning
When large enough to handle, thin seedlings to allow their development and to prevent overcrowding.
Special note
Ideal for cottage gardens
