Dahlia Pompon Mixed
The individual blooms may be small, but they are perfectly formed - and produced in abundance.
Virtual balls of colour, the dainty flowers are simply superb for cutting, for their perfect form can be really appreciated in a vase.
- Flowers into late Autumn
- Great cutflower
- 50 Seeds
- 90cm / 36in
- 45cm / 18in

Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in warmth 15-20C (60-70F), and keep moist.
Growing on / thinning
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from bright sun. When large enough to handle transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening off / planting
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 45cm (18in) between plants.
Young dahlias are very susceptible to frost damage, so do not be tempted to plant out too early!
Special note
Ideal for cutting

product review
As a newbie allotment holder I was unsure as what to grow. I was left with two beds unoccupied, which I planted up with Pompom and Dwarf Hybrid Dahlias. Both beds became crowded wth masses of blooms in all colours and became a talking point of all passers by. I entered our local flower show with a huge vase and took third prize. Thanks Unwins!
