Damson - Merryweather Tree

Go Back

This is a self-fertile fruit tree and is ideal for both culinary and dessert use.

It produces juicy, blue-black fruit with a blue bloom. The sweet yellow flesh has a good old-fashioned flavour.

Of the numerous items I ordered, this was the only one to come in a pot and with green growth. The tree was about 5 1/2 feet tall in a 2 litre pot. My damson tree, Merryweather, arrived this morning. It is quite small which suits me well as I want it to get used to our soil right from the earliest stage AND it has just a few flowerbuds. I might let it produce one damson this year as a taste of things to come. My husband is delighted too as his favourite food is damson ice cream!
