At the risk of being boring, I have grown this variety consistently for a number of years and it has never let me down. My son, who was very rude about different potatoes having their own flavour has even come round to acknowledging that these are rather good - and different. I am still, in late February, eating last year's crop and will have enough to take me through to April.

This is the first time I have grown Desiree on my garden, they produced very good potatoesfor mashing, chipping & baking, no scab or blight. They also keep well through the winter.Because of all this I have already ordered for 2010, so I hope they do as good again.

The Desiree Potatoes are one of the best tasting Potatoes they are great for mash, but even better for jacket potatoes they are so fluffy in the middle. They are so easy to grow, have grown these for many years.

Very good cropper even in dry conditions, with no need for extra watering. Suffers some scab, slug damage and also the dreaded blight, but well worth growing for delicious, heavy mash. Desirees are often ready for harvest by the end of July in my garden and they store very well right through winter.
