Lavender Munstead Purple
Lavender Munstead is an old favourite and traditional cottage plant. It's tough as old boots but incredibly elegant and sophisticated at the same time. This low-maintenance plant is ideal for planting in any sunny spot and will reward you with its wonderful scent and lilac-purple flowers throughout summer.
As a traditional variety, Munsteads' flowers sit at the top of very long, graceful swaying stems, bring movement to the garden and a light and airy look. Attracts lots of bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects to your garden. Ideal for creating a cottage garden effect or for using as low-growing soft hedging.
Why Buy Lavenders?
There's nothing like Lavender for adding traditional cottage-charm to a garden. Lavenders are not only beautifully scented and elegant, but they're adored by bees and butterflies too - you'll find them on the RHS Perfect for Pollinators list.
What's more, they're drought tolerant and very easy to look after too. Lavender plants are virtually maintenance free, only requiring a quick prune in the autumn after the flowers have faded. It's easy to do, just snip off the new growth and flower stems with secateurs, leaving the evergreen foliage in tact.
Young plants need water to grow good roots, but once they're established they barely need any water - perfect if you live in a hose-pipe ban area.
