Raised Vegetable Bed Kit - Standard 1.2m x 1.2m
Raised vegetable bed kits clearly define areas essential for crop rotation, giving better control of pests and diseases. It is easier to improve soil structure and improve drainage.
Soil is easier to warm up in spring for earlier crops and wood is a much easier material to secure your fleece or netting using staples or pins.
Standard Timber Raised Vegetable Bed Specification:
- Plain sawn timber with a more rustic look for veg beds
- Strong Redwood timber harvested from managed Scandinavian forest
- Pressure treated wood, made to last at least 10 years when in contact with the ground - with no further treatment.
- 4-way corner posts with pre-drilled screw holes and all screws included.
- Made from 25mm x 150mm pressure treated boards.

Why Use Raised Vegetable Beds?
One of the main reasons why raised vegetable beds are becoming more and more popular is because modern gardens are becoming smaller and raised beds will take up minimal room and if designed correctly you will be able to do all your gardening from your garden path.
Plant roots will bereave a lot better in raised vegetable beds as they will drain away moisture a lot quicker. Raised beds will also give you the advantage of choosing the condition & soil type you want to use so you can within reason grow almost anything.
Due to the fact you can do all you're gardening without stepping all over your plot you can plant your vegetables/flowers a lot closer together.
Weeds and pests are a lot easier to control, since your plants are spaced closer together; it leaves very little room for the weeds to spread.
Again if designed correctly raised vegetable beds really can be a lovely feature in your garden due to the fact that you can have any shape or size you wish, layer them up or design them around features already in place in your garden.
