Plants dormant at the moment but look to be ok
The plants arrived in just over a week, which is what was advised, but it still seems a long time in transit. Nevertheless they seemed to be in good condition.
Just twigs waiting for them to shoot
Raspberry Canes - Sugana x6 - Floricane
New variety producing two crops of fruit on the same canes. Just harvest the first year stems from August to October, leave the stems over winter and harvest again in June the next year. In the meantime more young canes will sprout from the ground ready for next autumn.
Receiving your plants – (6 canes)
Cut down canes to about 2cm (1in) above ground level in the first spring. This will encourage multiple canes to grow from the ground.
Tie in canes as they grow in the first summer. You may not get harvests in the first summer while the plants establish. In fact, if you notice flowers in the first summer, remove them to encourage vigorous plant growth for future harvests.
In the following summer harvest the fruits, and then leave the fruiting stems over winter. There’ll be more fruits appear on the canes in June the next year. In the meantime more young canes will sprout from the ground ready for next autumn.
Cut back the ‘twice-fruited’ stems in July to just above ground level.
Floricane (summer-fruiting) varieties fruit on canes produced in the previous year. After fruiting, cut out the old, fruited wood in autumn/winter and tie in the new growths to the support.See Full Description +
