growing information

Special note

If you don't have the right facilities to sow seed under cover early in the year, why not order these superb 'Garden Ready' Sweet Pea Plants.

Expertly grown using only the very best quality, hand sorted Unwins seed, our young Sweet Pea plants will be despatched in early March ready to plant out just as soon as conditions are right.

Plants will be supplied in multi-sown modules, each module containing at least 6 strong seedlings of the named variety. The modules are placed in a protective blister pack and will be despatched by first class letter post in a specially designed carton to arrive with you in perfect condition within 24 hours of being taken off the nursery beds.

Each module can be planted unbroken directly where the plants are to flower. This is the recommended way of planting if you are growing up netting or on a trellis. However, if you intend to grow plants individually as cordons, take extra care to avoid root damage when breaking up the modules.

N.B. Whilst the plants will have been partially hardened off before despatch if late frosts are forecast they will need protecting until fully hardened off.
