Walnut Tree: Juglans regia- Common Walnut tree

£24.99 each

  • Will flower well in full sun
  • Hardy Perennial - sow indoors or on a seedbed (April-June); transplant later to flower for many seasons

The Common Walnut, (Juglans regia) is the traditional walnut tree and grows into a large wide-domed tree, ideal for a large garden. The walnuts are produced on established trees and the trees live a long time. Walnuts are self -fertile so they don’t need another pollinator to be grown nearby.

All our bare root trees are delivered with a growing guide that gives full planting instructions.

Tip prune regularly to keep the trees a more manageable size. Don’t compost the leaves, and don’t

grow anything underneath the walnut because walnut trees can inhibit the growth of other plants; Harvest walnuts from August until December, both as unripe fruits for pickling and to eat as mature nuts.
