Big Garden Birdwatch 25-26 January 2014
Birds are in the main, good friends to gardeners, they hoover up aphids and caterpillars and despatch slugs and cutworms; valuable allies to combat pests in the garden.
True the pigeons are experts at nipping off brassica seedlings and blackbirds always get to the cherries first, but damage is easily stopped by netting vulnerable crops.
Every year the RSPB conduct a valuable survey that shows the rise or decline of bird species, it's a valuable indicator of the health of the countryside.
You can send feedback via mobiles or online or with a traditional paper form that can be mailed back.
