- Inspiration from RHS Hampton Court Show
The World Vision Garden at RHS Hampton Court show has the 30th anniversary of the Ethiopian famine as its inspiration.
- Growing biennial plants
Traditional biennial plants such as hollyhocks, foxgloves, sweet Williams, wallflowers and forget-me-nots are essential components of a country garden. All these biennial plants take 2 years to complete their growing cycle. The first year after sowing they put down roots and make rosettes of foliage, and in the second year they’ll send up flowers.
- Sow carrots
Nothing beats a home-grown carrot for taste; if you’ve never tried one we promise it will be a revelation. Crunchy, sweet and full of flavour; quite different from the watery bite of an average supermarket carrot!
