They arrived alive and are still growing
The plants were yellowed and dried up on arrival. Despite soaking them and planting into compost as soon as they arrived only 6 plants survived. They still look very weak and are not big enough to plant out.
Brussels Sprout Crispus - Plants
- Architectural crop
- Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit
- Stands upright through the winter
Choose to grow variety Crispus if you are looking to grow sprouts for the first time. They are well-furnished and provide you with so many essential vitamins and nutrients including vitamin C, folic acid and antioxidants.
Love them or hate them, there’s always someone in your life that is partial to these well-known vegetables and will really appreciate the home-grown taste. The small, tight buttons put on a charming dark green hue with good deep flavour.
Growing sprout adds visual impact to the vegetable patch as well as flavour so Crispus isn’t just on your vegetable patch for taste – it makes a great architectural addition too with its tall stems. Grown with vegetables that form globe shapes like lettuce and cabbage you create great contrast.
While you wait for your sprouts to develop we recommend that you place crops of fast-growing lettuce between each plant so you can harvest and enjoy the taste of lettuce before your big harvests of sprouts.See Full Description +
