The Camassia leichtlinnii alba bulb flowers in the late spring with spikes of creamy-white flowers which are not only long-lasting, but also extremely tolerant.

As one of the showiest of the spring bulbs, this particular Camassia bulb is ideal for planting in sun or light shade, where there tall spires of starry flowers will emerge in spring and early summer, adding height and colour to the garden.

Camassias will tolerate some shade and the pale flowers look superb against a dark background, lighting up semi-shaded areas. Plant the Camassia bulbs to create an excellent border or as part of a meadow planting scheme with other moisture loving bulbs such as fritillaria.

Camassias are just as much at home in natural planting schemes and they thrive in damp conditions where many bulbs would struggle.

Camassias originate from moist coastal and mountainous regions of North and Western America, where they grow in damp meadows and the bulbs can naturalise to form large clumps.

How you receive your bulbs

You receive our spring-flowering bulbs in autumn in a plastic mesh. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack which is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

Keep your bulbs in a cool, light and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Look to planting your bulbs within a week of receiving them.
