Crocus Mixed Species collection - Crocus Bulbs (corms)
A great all-round crocus bulb traditional mix.
A mix of classic crocus colours to give a bright splash early on in the spring. Perfect for growing underneath trees, or for planting in grass where they will naturalise readily.
Nothing beats the sight of a swathe of colourful crocus peeping through grass.
The goblet-shaped cups open wide in spring sunshine and provide valuable early nectar for bumblebees and foraging insects as well as delighting us.
Crocuses are also perfect for under planting permanent shrubs in containers, or use them in shallow containers or troughs for spring displays either on their own or teamed with bedding plants such as violas and pansies or similarly coloured primulas.
Plant the bulbs around twice their depth into free draining soil, they will tolerate part shaded positions but give their best display in a sunny site.
There is no need to lift crocuses after flowering, but if planting in grass delay mowing until the crocus leaves have died down; this directs energy back to the bulbs.
