Dahlia Bodacious - Tuber
- Huge dinnerplate flowers
- Look great in vases and containers
- Last well into autumn
Look forward to dazzling dahlia plants in your garden that reveal flowers that look like hot suns. Fiery red petals with contrasting yellow tips explode from large buds from July right through to October. They look super impactful, with more than fifty petal on one bloom.
Plant them in the middle of herbaceous beds with neighbouring summer bulbs like cannas, gladioli and crocosmia. All these flowers come in hot red colours giving your garden a feel of a tropical paradise where you can make the perfect escape.
Alternatively plant your tuber in a container in the centre; Dahlia Bodacious makes a great focal plant surrounded by shorter grasses and other red flowers including tender geraniums, petunias and red busy Lizzies.
When you receive your bulb-like tuber, plant straight away in a pot filled with a specially-formulated bulb compost like Dalefoot Wool Compost for Bulbs. If you plan to plant in a bed, just add a spadeful or two per square metre of the Wool Compost into the top layer of the existing soil.
If you can’t plant the tuber straight away leave it somewhere cool, dark and airy like an unheated shed. Look to planting your bulb within five to seven days.See Full Description +
