A wonderful wallflower in a full spectrum of cheery colours. Flowers are plentiful on stems with evergreen sword-shape leaves. A great contender for the cottage garden and equally as effective in a modern garden grown in containers.

Giving you highly fragrant and fantastic flowers in pinks, oranges and yellows from April to August you have the perfect flowers from Easter – consider cutting some to put in a vase in your living room- and throughout the summer.

Wallflower Erysimum Paintbox looks lovely in containers grown with daffodils and tulips and followed by summer lilies and pineapple lilies Eucomis. Easy to grow, place three young plants in a 30cm pot, around nine in a square metre area or three in a metre-long border.

Put wallflowers in a sunny part of your garden in a sheltered or exposed spot and water well daily in the morning or evening. Water both mornings and evenings in particularly warm areas.

Your flowers reach around 25cm (10in) within the first year of planting, and return every year to give you more flowers right through the summer.
