Snowdrops (Galanthus) are great naturalisers!

Every garden needs snowdrops and these single snowdrop bulbs are a classic 'must have' plant. Snowdrops do best in rich soil in partial shade but can be planted anywhere. Perfect planted under trees and shrubs to give a sparkling carpet of white to herald the spring.

Snowdrops are one of the earliest bulbs to flower in the spring, making them a welcome sight from as early as January and flowering through to February. Once they get going they form bigger and bigger clumps every year as they naturalise.

Plant the bulbs at least twice their depth into free draining soil. If planting in grass lift a flap of turf and position the bulbs underneath, firm the turf back gently and water to settle the soil.

How you receive your bulbs

You receive our spring-flowering bulbs in autumn in a plastic mesh. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack which is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

Keep your bulbs in a cool, light and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Look to planting your bulbs within a week of receiving them.
