Grafted Tomato Taster Pack-Plants
- Three easy-grow tomato types
- Disease-resistant and productive
- Delicious tomato scent and great flavours
Enjoy these three superior varieties, equally flavoursome yet with their own distinct qualities.
1) Tomato San Marzano- the classic Italian plum tomato for rich, delicious passatas.
2) Tomato Shirley- a traditional and much-loved customer favourite
3) Tomato Sweet Million- a climbing cherry tomato variety, which grows well in the greenhouse up a cane.
Grafted tomato plants are stronger than non-grafted relatives, they give bigger harvests and show greater disease resistance.
Grafting brings together a hardy base plant which resists soil-borne diseases with a variety with great tasting tomato fruit. Because they are more resistant to soil-borne diseases you need not worry about disease build-up and can plant in the same spot every year, great for home growers with limited space.
■ Are much more vigorous, producing larger, stronger plants
■ Are less susceptible to nutritional disorders
■ Have greater resistance to pests and diseases
■ Produce fruit earlier (by 2-3 weeks)
■ Give higher yields of top quality fruit over a longer period compared with normal plants
■ Are particularly recommended for greenhouse growing, especially if planted directly into the soil.
When you receive your tomato plants by post, water lightly, then plant them up in small pots. If the stem tip is bent, rest assured, it will quickly right itself when exposed to daylight to grow straight and upright.
