Add Instant Impact with these Autumn and Winter Interest shrubs.

Our shrubs are supplied as well established potted plants. Potted shrubs can be planted at any time as long as soil is workable

Hamamelis mollis is commonly known as Chinese witch hazel. It has spidery perfumed flowers that appear on bare branches. They light up the winter garden when colour and scent are in short supply.

Witch hazels are deciduous shrubs or small trees  that lose their leaves in autumn, but before they drop the leaves are often brilliantly coloured.

Plant into well-cultivated, weed free soil. Dig a hole large enough to take the plant's roots. Gently knock the shrub out of its pot (keeping the soil around the roots intact) and  plant so the stem is at the same level in the ground as it was in the pot. Fill around with soil and firm in gently. Water  to settle the soil around the plant.

Hamamelis is naturally a well shaped shrub - no special pruning is required.

Flowers: December-February

Period of interest: Winter flowers and Autumn foliage colour
