Jermor Shallot Sets
- Easy to slice and prepare
- Perfect for growing in a raised VegTrug
- Unique sweet flavour
Grow shallot Jermor for a unique home-grown flavour and a sweetness unrivalled by supermarket-shallots in plastic wrap. Long and regular they are easy to slice once in the kitchen and great to add to a creamy sauce for a delicious quiche or fish dish.
The Royal Horticultural Society has given this top variety a coveted Award of Garden Merit on account of its excellent growing attributes as well as great flavour. Once you’ve picked your shallots from July and through the summer, you can store the excess shallots in a cool place like a garage and they store well over the autumn and the winter.
We recommend you plant your shallot sets in a raised bed to avoid bending and squatting. Try growing in deep VegTrugs, planting your shallot sets around 20-30cm 98-12in) apart. Add pre-planting Onion, Garlic & Leek Fertiliser to the soil to give your shallot sets a welcome nutrient boost and head-start.See Full Description +
