Reminiscent of custard tarts these large, pale yellow perennial Shasta daisies look practically edible. Alas, they are not but they are beautiful and look fantastic in wallside borders with other cottage favourites like lavender, sedums and argyranthemums.

Buds open up into beautiful discs of pale-lemon petals surrounding a contrasting deep yellow centre. As the season goes on the yellow petals turn gradually white for an ever-changing display. Perfect placed in pots as centrepiece plants and surrounded by trailing lobelias for a classy yellow/blue combination.

Cut some of the stems so that you can create some nice vases indoors. Pair with the spikes of lavender for a fragrant and visually-fantastic flower display. Banana Cream look great in flower beds too. Towards the front of your beds the flowering discs open and close according to the sun providing you with a moving display.
