- Juicy blueberry-like fruit with a slightly tart aftertaste

Try Lonicera caerulea Honeybee (Honeyberry) in your garden, well-fruiting shrubs that are impressively hardy through the winter, down to -40⁰C (-40⁰F). A reliable soft-fruit plant, Honeybee gives you lots of fruit every year on self-fertile plants.
The fruit of honeyberries is like blueberries in juiciness but slightly tarter in taste and with an interesting sharper aftertaste. Before fruiting in summer your plants produce a flush of fragrant white flowers throughout the spring.
As a tall shrub Lonicera caerulea adds structure and height to your garden and brings in important pollinating insects like bees and hoverflies.
We recommend that you allow your shrubs to establish and grow in the first and second year. Simply enjoy watching your shrub grow and mature. In the third year prune your plant to keep it neat in habit. Prune a third of the older stems right back to the ground, and lightly prune the side shoots all over to promote flowering and fruiting shoots.See Full Description +
