Lonicera Frangrantissima- 3Ltr Shrub
Lonicera fragrantissima, also known as Winter Honeysuckle, is a delightful, late-flowering, shrub type species of this popular garden plant. It produces heavily scented, creamy-white flowers from sporadically from December through to March which are often followed by ornamental red berries. The deep green leaves are sometimes tinged with purple. Lonicera fragrantissima is without a doubt a fabulous semi-evergreen shrub, that, like its climbing cousins, can be trained against a wall or fence, especially near a doorway where the fragrance can be appreciated the most.
Dig a hole large and deep enough to take the plant’s root ball.
Gently tap the plant out of its pot without disturbing the soil around the roots.
Position the plant at the bottom of the hole so the plant’s crown is level with the surface and sits at the same depth as it was in the pot; make sure the roots are in direct contact with the soil.
Backfill with the excavated soil and firm in gently. Water to settle the soil around the roots.
Shrubs are easy-care plants getting better every year with the minimum of fuss.
Watering: Water regularly in the first few weeks after planting and then make sure the plants are kept moist in dry spells.
Feeding: Give shrubs a boost with a handful of granular feed hoed into the soil in spring.
Pruning: Prune Lonicera fragrantissima immediately after flowering; cutting stems back to a vigorous new shoot to ensure next year’s flowers.
