Monarda Knight Purple - Plants
- Beautiful purple flowers, upright and stately
- Great in late summer
- Attractive to beneficial pollinating insects
- Happy in all soils given a sunny spot in the garden
Bee balms are great additions to flower beds. Reaching 60cm (24in) in height this variety looks fantastic in the heart of flower beds. With other tall summer-flowering purple and pink perennials like echinaceas and eryngiums you can create a summer garden that exudes charm and tranquillity.
Attracting beneficial pollinators like bees and hoverflies you bring your garden to life with this lovely variety, Monarda Knight Purple.
We’d recommend you plant three young plants to a container with a 12in (30cm) diameter for creating maximum colour and impact. Plant up several pots of three plants for a sight to behold. Pots dotted around the patio will really impress guests – and for such little effort.
Grow in pots with compost suitable for perennials to ensure the plants have the best soil to grow and thrive in. If you grow them in flower beds mix some compost in with the existing soil to give your flowers the best soil to grow in. If you grow in flowerbeds space plants around 8in (20cm) apart. An area of a yard by a foot (1m by 30cm) will fit around five plants.
Get some sharp secateurs and cut some of the flowers for vases or bouquets bringing a bit of colour to the home.See Full Description +
