Plant daffodil bulbs in September-October, Plant the bulbs around 2-3 times their depth, into free draining soil. Avoid planting bulbs in soil that gets waterlogged; on heavy soils add grit to the planting hole to prevent bulbs rotting. For a natural effect scatter the bulbs and plant them where they fall.
Planting daffodil bulbs in grass. If you are planting a lot of daffodils in grass it's easier to gently lift an L-shaped flap of turf and space the bulbs out underneath the flap before carefully replacing it and firming down gently. The daffodils will push through the turf in spring to give a very natural effect.
Planting daffodil bulbs in containers of bulb compost, or gritty free draining compost. Plant bulbs around 2-3 times their depth.
After care Let the daffodil leaves die down naturally and don?t be tempted to cut them back early. The foliage needs to absorb energy back to the bulb to ensure next years flowers.
