Good product glad I bought this item.
For the price of the plants I would have expected better, the graft on the apple tree isn't 100% and looks like it will be a week foot as the tree grows. The poppies look sad they might recover.
Patio Apple Tree - Elstar 2L
- Self-fertile for guaranteed fruit every year
- Happy to grow in a large pot or directly in a bed
- The perfect sweet-sharp balance of flavour
Introduce apple Elstar to your kitchen garden for an attractive tree which produces lots of green-yellow apples with a flush of red in autumn and attractive blossoms in the spring. The flavour and texture of every apple is a perfect balance of sharpness and sweetness making a great apple to eat straight from the tree or juicing for a delicious honey-flavoured appple juice.
In your first year you can enjoy some apples but look forward to a heavier crop in the second and subsequent years. If you decide to grow Elstar in a large pot be sure to add well-rotted organic matter to John Innes No 3 compost. Apple trees are hungry so will appreciate a rich soil. Elstar will then reward you with lots of fruit. Each year replace the top layer of soil in spring with a fresh dose of organic matter.
We recommend that you underplant your apple Elstar tree with tulips and daffodils to offset the spring blossom for an attractive display and maximum flower power.
This 2-year old specimen is self-fertile and will provide a notable crop of fruit in its second year.
If you can't plant up your fruit tree straight away we recommend that you keep your potted plant in a sunny position and keep the soil moist by watering each day. Look to planting into its permanent position within 5-7 days.See Full Description +
