Plum Lizzie Bare Root x1
- Japanese plum variety – super sweet plums with blood-red flesh
- Cheery frost-resistant blossoms in early spring
- Great dessert and culinary plum- reduces well on stewing
- Self-fertile tree; fruits even in isolation of other plums
Grow plum Lizzie in your garden and look forward to tasty sun-ripe Japanese plums in July every year. Lizzie plums are super sweet so make a great fruit for the fruit bowl. The flesh is blood red and super juicy - satisfyingly thirst-quenching in the height of summer.
Plum Lizzie makes a great culinary fruit too. It reduces well on stewing, great for making pies, crumbles and jam.
In late winter to spring your tree reveals pretty blossoms in large numbers, heralding the start of spring and attracting animated pollinating insects to your garden like bees, lacewings and ladybirds.
Your fruit tree spends the first year or two establishing its roots, flowers and fruiting stems, and then comes into fruit thereafter. Grow in good, rich soil. Once it fruits it crops heavily so we recommend that you pick off around a quarter to a third of the fruit while it’s developing in late spring. This relieves the branches from taking too weight from the fruit as it gets bigger.See Full Description +
