Plum Marjorie’s Seedling is one of the main commercially grown plums in the UK, it is also a brilliant choice for your garden or a small orchard.

This variety is a good culinary plum, it is also very delicious when eaten fresh when it is fully ripe. Plum Marjorie’s Seedling is very attractive for commercial growers, this is because it is vigorous, hardy, disease resistant and a very reliable and heavy cropper.

These qualities mean that the variety is also ideal for your garden or small orchard, by growing this variety yourself you are able to achieve much better flavour than commercial growers. The method to getting better flavour is to leave the plums on the tree for a longer period of time.

If you like to eat plums fresh there are not many other varieties still available to pick as late in the season as this variety. The fruits are large, plum-shaped and a beautiful shade of purple which becomes blue-black when it is fully ripe. It has a heavy bloom making the fruits very attractive.

The flesh of the fruit is a green-yellow shade, very juicy, coarse, and veined and a very strong plum taste. The plum is a clinging stone variety. If eating fresh off the tree then make sure you leave the fruit on the tree for a long as possible as this will improve the flavour.
