A fantastic family plum tree – expertly bred to produce two varieties of succulent, juicy plums to grow from just one tree!

In the world of fruit trees, this is great as the two neighbouring varieties help each other out in producing compatible flowers that turn into masses of delicious fruit.

The two plum varieties that will produce you lots of fruit are;

Shropshire Damson Prune

A classic culinary damson that is perfect for jams and cake-making as seen on the Great British Bake-Off.

A heritage and dependable English variety that performs well be it a cool summer or a sun-filled hot, summer.

Victoria

If they make it to the kitchen before you polish off these delicious plums en route, here’s another variety for deserved desserts, reliably producing a heavy crop of superbly sweet, juicy versatile plums; perfect for pies, puddings or jams.

In your first year expect at least a punnet’s worth of fruit, and then double this each year thereafter, just from your 1 tree.

Plant in a container with at least 16in (40cm) diameter so the tree has enough room to grow and thrive. Alternatively grow in a bed giving space of about a square yard (square metre) for the tree to develop a handsome head of leaves and fruit.

How your plants arrive?

Your bare-root tree comes to you in a cardboard box to protect it while in transit and the roots are wrapped around in a bag to keep them moist. These young trees are perfect at this stage in their development to plant in autumn and winter, as that's when they'll concentrate their efforts developing their roots underground.

A strong root network supports a strong trunk. In spring the buds on the bare trunk burst open to produce strong side branches which form the flowers and fruit. If your cherry-tree is a variety that we supply in a pot it will arrive to you in a protective cardboard box, with the pot secured and wrapped in a hessian sack.

On arrival, remove the hessian sack and check that the soil in the pot is moist. If dry, add water to the soil to the top of the pot and let it drain away naturally.

Can’t plant straight away?

If you can't plant up your fruit tree straight away that's fine so long as keep the roots covered in soil. You can even lay the tree horizontally on the soil surface so long as the roots are covered in moist soil. Look to planting your fruit tree in its permanent position within 5-7 days.

We may prune your tree before it arrives to your door. We do this to encourage your tree to branch freely which makes them better looking and more productive.
