Plum Victoria - Tree
£19.99 each
- Britain’s best known plum
- Easy to grow
- Beautiful blossoms
With pretty spring blossoms and versatile, tasty fruits, the Victoria Plum Tree is a must have in any garden. It is reliable and produces heavy, egg-shaped fruit that is great both for culinary and dessert use. The plums can be used to make delicious pies and jams or you can eat it straight from the tree.
It can be argued that the humble Victoria Plum is the nation’s favourite and it is not difficult to see why. The origins of this wonderful fruit are not known, but the first we can be sure of it is in 1837, which was the same year Queen Victoria began her reign. Since then it has won the RHS Award for Garden Merit in 1993, which was again confirmed in 2013.
We suggest you place your Victoria Plum tree in full sunshine, making sure it has well-drained but moist soil and it will grow to a height of up to 4m (13ft). As these delicious plums grow they will change colour from an orange/red colour, which are great if you want to cook with them, to a red/purple colour which are perfect for picking ripe off of the tree.
