Tips & Advice:
Sowing Indoors
Level fill a module tray with seed compost firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually covering seeds with about 5mm of compost. Place in a propagator at 15-20°C, or cover tray with cling film and leave in a warm room. Keep moist.
Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 10˚ C. Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Planting Out
When seedlings have produced 4 leaves, transplant them to their cropping position leaving 25cm between plants. Firm in and keep well watered in dry spells.
Advice
Celery plants need water to produce superb sticks. Dig in plenty of organic material into the bed and mulch in summer.
