Raspberry Canes - Glen Dee x6 - Floricane
- No thorns
- Lots of fruit from one plant
- Even-sized berries
Vigorous raspberry variety producing ample fruit in mid to late summer. Regular conical fruits mean they’re easy to harvest and their spine-free stems makes comfortable picking with no snagging.
Great for growing in beds in an allotment, Glen Dee is a floricane variety that produces lots of fruit every year provided your plants get full sun and you grow in soil that is extra rich.
We recommend you add half a bag of John Innes No2 compost or well-rotted manure when planting and when pruning fruited stems back in late winter.
You receive your raspberry plants as bare-root canes. They are delivered to you in a plastic wrap and a good network of roots. Plant in the winter, they will put down good roots so they are ready to put up lots of fruiting stems in spring. Harvests will be up to three weeks earlier than if you plant from April.
At planting cut stems down to 5cm (2in) from the base of the soil. In the first year let your raspberry shrubs produce lots of leafy growth to strengthen your plants. In the second year you’ll get your rewards of raspberries from strong plants.See Full Description +
