Soil Moisture Meter
£8.99 each
- For houseplants and garden plants
- Stops under and overwatering
- Battery-free
- Useful for lawns too
Assess the moisture level of your soil beds or container soil in a jiffy simply by placing this moisture gage in the soil and reading the meter. Colour-coded you’ll know straight away if the soil is dry, moist or wet.
With meter-reading instructions on the back of your pack you’ll know if the plants in your soil need watering or leaving alone. In the red zone your soil is dry and perfect for cacti and succulents. Simply mist-spray them daily. Most plants are happy in soil that is moist and in the green zone. Water if the soil is dry and refrain from watering if the soil is wet.
The only plants that will be happy in wet soil (blue zone) are aquatic plants and moisture-loving plants like waterlilies, hostas, monkey flowers and creeping Jenny flowers.
Useful Tip:
We recommend that you insert the probe right into the soil near the plant roots and wait for 60-90 seconds. Remove the soil moisture meter and read the moisture scale. Then water (or not) accordingly. Wipe the probe clean and dry and keep the meter somewhere cool and dry when not in use. Don’t keep in soil over an extended period of time.
