Sweetcorn Seeds - Mirai Gold F1
£2.99 each
Well-filled yellow cobs which are perfect raw, steamed or barbecued amass on compact plants and grow well in both containers and on the vegetable patch.
Sowing Indoors: Sow seeds individually in small 7.5cm (3in) pots filled with seed compost, pushing them in to a depth of 1cm (½ in). Place in a warm environment 15-18°C (60-65°F). Grow on in light conditions but out of direct sun.
Planting out: Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions for two to three weeks before planting out to permanent outdoor planting positions after the risks of frost have passed.
To ensure good pollination plant in squares allowing 45cm (18in) each way between plants.
Sowing outdoors: Sow seeds 45cm (18in) apart approximately 2cm (3/4in) deep. Lightly cover with soil and keep the soil moist at all times.
Harvest: In August and September when the tassels on the cobs have turned brown.
Please note: Avoid growing other varieties of sweet corn nearby as they may cross-pollinate with Mirai Gold leading to irregular cobs.
