Lovely plant and bare roots are growing well
A bit early for a full assessment but looks promising.
Early days but plants healthy enough hopefully will mature well
Tulbaghia violacea - Society Garlic x3 Dormant Roots
For under £3 for every plant you can enjoy the attractive flowers of Society garlic- (Tulbaghia violacea) each year and chive-like leaves to flavour dishes all year round.
Easy-grow member of the garlic family perfect for planting up in containers in spring and growing through the summer for charming flowerheads lasting through the summer and into November.
Its neat, evergreen strappy leaves look lovely when complemented by low-growing and colourful bedding. Perfect for the front of flowerbeds too or rock gardens that have a naturally free-draining soil.
With an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society this is a lovely perennial (half-hardy in some areas), perfect for growing in pots outdoors and bringing under cover over winter.
The scent of the leaves deters unwanted visitors to the garden too like rats.
Great in the kitchen as well as the garden, you can harvest the edible leaves and flowers; fantastic for chopping and adding to salads to give a peppery and garlic-like kick. Society garlic also has the bonus of not causing the anti-social odours associated with regular garlic.
How you receive your plants
Your bare-root flowers come to you in a cardboard box or envelope to protect them while in transit and the roots are wrapped around in a bag with some compost to keep them moist. They are perfect at this stage in their development to plant now so they can concentrate their efforts developing their roots underground which will help them develop strong flowering and leafy stems.
Can't plant straight away?
If you can't plant your flowers straight away that's fine so long as keep the roots covered in soil.
Look to planting your flowers in their permanent position within 5-7 days.See Full Description +
