£5.99 each

  • Good in pots and containers
  • Varieties suitables for cutting
  • Will flower well in full sun

Alexandre Dumas famously wrote about it ages ago: the much sought after 'Black Tulip'.

Virtually black, this Tulip 'Queen of Night' is the darkest of them all and despite being a very dark maroon-purple, from a distance it really does look black!  Queen of Night has  large blooms on particularly  sturdy stems and these tulips stay in bloom for a long time. They also make excellent cut flowers.

Plant tulip bulbs at least three times their depth into free-draining soil in the border or in containers. Tulips need a sunny site to give the best show of flowers.

Deadhead spent blooms and allow foliage to die down naturally once flowering ends.  This helps to divert goodness back to the bulb for a great display next year.

How you receive your bulbs

You receive our spring-flowering bulbs in autumn in a plastic mesh. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack which is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

Keep your bulbs in a cool, light and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Look to planting your bulbs within a week of receiving them.
