  • Good in pots and containers
  • Will flower well in full sun
  • Hardy Perennial - sow indoors or on a seedbed (April-June); transplant later to flower for many seasons
  • Attracts Bees

Commonly called the vervain, this lovely form was selected on account of its red-wine coloured dainty leaves and complementing small yet numerous pink flowers attractive to bees, hoverflies and butterflies.

With an airy habit Bampton looks lovely positioned in flower beds among the tall flowers of hollyhocks, dahlias and tall veronicastrums as part of a perennial display which suits cottage gardens and traditional gardens.

Easy to grow, position young plants in a bed, dotted around other plants in some good moist yet free draining soil. If growing in a container place one young plant in the centre of the container and surround with some trailing plants like lobelia while Brampton establishes.

Hardy to UK weather, position in an open or exposed part of the garden and Bampton flowers every year. Cut stems back in the autumn to tidy and fresh stems appear from the ground the following spring.
