Weigela florida ‘Moulin Rouge’ is an stunning yellow variegated variety of Weigela. It produces deep reddish-pink trumpet shaped flowers that really stand out against the variegated deep green and limey-yellow deciduous foliage. ‘Moulin Rouge’ is a hardier variety than 'Variegata'. It can be planted in any well draining border in full sun or partial shade and is best situated in an un-crowded position where the wonderful foliage can be easily appreciated.

Dig a hole large and deep enough to take the plant’s root ball.

Gently tap the plant out of its pot without disturbing the soil around the roots.

Position the plant at the bottom of the hole so the plant’s crown is level with the surface and sits at the same depth as it was in the pot; make sure the roots are in direct contact with the soil.

Backfill with the excavated soil and firm in gently. Water to settle the soil around the roots.

Shrubs are easy-care plants getting better every year with the minimum of fuss.

Watering: Water regularly in the first few weeks after planting and then make sure the plants are kept moist in dry spells.

Feeding:  Give shrubs a boost with a handful of granular feed hoed into the soil in spring.

Pruning:  Prune to shape if necessary, immediately after flowering.

On established plants remove one or two of the oldest stems cutting to the base to encourage new growth.
